SUSTAINING THE SEAS, 11-13December 2017, University of Sydney, Policy and the meanings of fish: the differentiation of sustainable seafood in Australia. The paper is being published as a chapter book, co-authored with Kate Barclay and Rob Nicholls. Reference to follow soon.
4S Sydney, ANNUAL MEETING OF THE SOCIETY FOR SOCIAL STUDIES OF SCIENCE, 29-31 August 2018, Sydney Combatting Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing (IUU): national borders, international trade. This paper presented how IUU fishing has advanced capitalism in the regulation of the high seas, while at the same time providing a way to make environmental provisions acceptable to the trade regime. This is now being prepared for publication.
Intervention, Intersection, Impact. FASS 2018 HDR Conference, 15-16 November 2018, UTS, Sydney. I presented the findings in my research which is now in the process of writing up.
I am also a member of the Fisheries, Marine and Coastal Studies research group at the University of Technology, Sydney, that specialises in researching fisheries and aquaculture, maritime environments and societies, and political, cultural and economic practices related to these.
